Meet the founder

SIS was founded by Dharawal and Yuin woman, Gabrielle in 2023. Her passion to create a versatile label to empower women and normalise fashion for all shapes and sizes, began the evolution of SIS.

Gabrielle is a Landscape Designer, however her creativity stretches beyond the landscape realm with this being her original roots. SIS collections are designed with inspiration from our surrounding landscape and therefore blending the two worlds cohesively.

Gabrielle founded SIS with the aim to create a community of strong, confident women and supportive of a balanced lifestyle.

Our roots

SIS is woven with the quiet strength of our family story. My Grandfather, born on Yuin Country and raised on Dharawal land, was taken from his home at just four years old as part of one of the Stolen Generations.

Despite the challenges he faced being forcibly removed from his family and raised in non-Indigenous foster homes, his spirit never dimmed. He escaped many times in search of family, and finally escaped in his late teens on foot from Gosford all the way back to his mum’s home in Botany.

A natural leader and community man, he went on to become the first Aboriginal referee for Group 6 football, proudly known as 'Darkie' on the field.

Today, I choose to walk proudly in our culture - a strength my Grandfather was denied. His resilience guides the heart of everything we create. SIS stands as a celebration of resilience, connection, and the strength that runs through our story.
